About me
I'm Andy Wheeler and this is the new website. I have been freelancing for just over a year, currently operating from the Sunshine Coast, Australia. I specialise in web design, development and promotion.
Prior to becoming a fulltime freelancer, I was employed at an advertising and design agency in the UK for three years. I obtained my BA Hons at university studying a multimedia software course, after completing two years in graphic design at college.
When I'm not working, here's a few examples of what I'm about:
Web Design
The first stage for me, is to understand exactly what you want from your website, both in terms of functionality and visual appearance. I will find out what you like, and what you don't like in a website. After we've talked it through, I'll produce an inital design sketch on paper, and then mock up the layout on screen, ready for your new text and pictures to go in.
Web Developement
Web Development offers advanced features and functionality to a website. For example, you may want to update the website's content yourself from your computer, manage an online shop, or even start populating the next MySpace! All of these are possible. The turnaround on these bespoke websites is longer, but the results offer huge benefits over standard websites.
Promotion
Its one thing having a brand new website, but quite another trying to get people to visit. The internet is vast, and I can help better your chances at coming up in Google, Yahoo and MSN. I use a number of techniques that range from tweaking the raw code 'behind the scenes' to installing web stats to track and analyze user data. Putting these and many other practices into place, I can help get your website ranking above your competitors.
